Uttar Pradesh: Police Book Man After His Wife Claims He Is Impotent

Shahjahanpur: An FIR has been lodged against seven people for being involved in the marriage of a woman to an impotent man.

Along with others, the husband of the woman has also been named in the First Information Report.

As per reports, the family members married the girl with great pomp, but when she reached her in-laws' house, she got to know that her husband was impotent.

The Police also claimed that the woman's family gave the husband Rs 10 lakh in cash and other household items as a marriage gift.

''The girl, living in a village of Thana Puwayan, was married by her family members to Satyam, a resident of Shahjahanpur, and gave Rs 10 lakh in cash and dowry in her marriage,'' Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sanjeev Bajpayee on Sunday said.

''But when the bride told this to her in-laws, her sister-in-law, etc. thrashed her and threatened to kill her'' he added.

Meanwhile, the police have started the investigation by registering a case against seven people including the husband.
